Bo and her crew are an excellent excuse to curl up with a good book in a.c. when it’s hot outside. The series also kept me trudging on my treadmill several days when I would have been happy to veg instead.
Exercise or sloth, you can’t go wrong with this bit of fantasy, action, vampire and perhaps, in future books, romance.
But the typos get worse the further you go. I almost only gave it 3 stars. I'm willing to forgive some, but others made me come out of the story, I had to think a sec to make sure I had the meaning right. I don't even mind a run on sentence. It also starts in the present tense and circles around the gambit a bit. She's a PI, and in the third book she's trying to find a serial rapist/murderer. That may turn some people off. Didn't bother me any.
Helen Harper writes this series very well. Bo has values which she applies to her life and work. I would say she loves but does not give it freely to all. Her giving up her one chance to be human again to save the life of a friend says it all. Most vampire books portray vampires as having no feelings and or heart but as a vampire Bo and others do. Medici is the epitomy of Evelyn and it will be interesting to see where he goes next. The romance between Michael and Bo is stalled. I realize Michael used to bea cop but if most vampires used to be criminals then what did he do? Is Bo giving up her compassion and one sty by following a demon? Many questions for the next book to answer. Excellent series to read and you must read the Red Angel which is the next book in the series.

Discovered Helen Harper after getting a free kindle copy of Blood Destiny. Haven't looked back. This is another great series.
